Sicily, Culinary and Cultural Tour
Our Cooking Classes: June 1 - 9, 2008

The cooking classes are informal in our teacher's home kitchens and consist of demonstrations and partial participation.

In 2008 there will be four cooking classes, three will be partial participation and one will be a demo. In addition, there will be a pastry demo at Corsino Bakery. Menus will include typical, traditional Sicilian recipes.

Alessia will focus on seafood and take place at her home in Siracuse, a short walk from our B&B. Dishes may include stuffed sardines and pasta with sepia (squid ink). Alessia will demo the preparation and we will have the opportunity to try our hands at it. The class will be followed by dinner of the dishes we prepared with Alessia's own wine as accompaniment.

Giuseppina is a homemaker and cooking teacher. The class will be in her outdoor patio, weather permitting, and will be demo and participation. It will feature pasta making. Dinner will follow and be complemented by a sampling of Giussepina's own homemade liqueurs.

Fiora's class will take place at her home just across from L'approdo B&B. The class will be a demo and may include falso magro (veal rolled with cheese, eggs and prosciutto) and cassata cake (ricotta and marzipan).
